Hi,
There is a 2001 V 11 limited edition Rosso Mandello that has come up for sale here in New Zealand, are they something special or is just the cosmetics limited edition?
Also are they collectable or commanding a premium price wise over a standard V11?
Appreciate any information people may have.

Mostly cosmetic. They get a bit more than a standard in the states due to the color but I actually see the "greenies" be the most coveted. I believe they made like 300 that were numbered on the side cover and the next 300 were without a number from what I recall. Pretty when new but most I have seen have turned a bit orange looking over the years.

If it's that damaged one (#141) being auctioned on trademe at present -$NZ3550 so far - it's value for the money would depend upon the cost to get it rideable (rather than restored to original) and on the road. Scratches don't matter much & the fairing is not absolutely necessary. You'd have to check out the actual damage - brake reservoir, RHS mirror gone at least. They say the frame & forks are OK, but check to see if the spine is, in fact, not buckled just behind the headstock - where it is designed to buckle, and the fork sliders move freely, and the wheel rims are fine. Take someone along with you who knows V11's well. You could end up with a great ride at a decent price, but you'll have to do your homework well.
Someone recently was trying to sell a RM out of a collection (very low ks) for $15,000 (way too much, in my opinion)

Yes it is the damaged one on NZ trade me, current bid $3550 NZD, I will go and look at it this week.
As long as it is structurally sound then I am keen to see if I can get it.
