Couldn't decide about fitting crash bars to my V7-II until one day I realised that every bike I've ever owned has come off the stand at some point...for one reason or another :embarrassed:
After fitting the bars I was happy with them. While I prefer the look of the bike without them, they do blend in and look part of it.
(I also haven't had any vibration issues with them at all).
But I really didn't like the way the frame rail join looked now that the plastic frame rail covers couldn't go back on.
So I modified them to fit.
A 25mm forstner in a drill press at the slowest speed did the trick.
Centre is easily found on the inside of the cover - just drill a 2mm guide hole.
Very happy with the results.

Great idea. Mine are the one piece Agostini's. I cut my covers in half, then decided to just leave them off. No way I'd take the bars off to drill that hole. Destroyed mine anyway.

My bars are also the one piece Agostini's.
I was dreading removing the bars to fit the covers but it all went smoothly.
Removed the lower bolts, loosened the top bolts, slip one side off & put the cover on the end of the bar, slip back in place.
No dramas.
Btw, a replacement pair of covers is only AU$13.90

All, every bike needs a roll bar. they should be stock factory installed. its just time b4 you roll it over. if you think it looks bad with a roll bar, you should see what they look like with out one. after the roll over. poncho

Nice job there. I cut mine in half and it was an improvement (not as nice as yours though) and they stayed on for a couple of years.
Yes, there should be some better attachment mounts provided for engine and frame protectors. :thumb:
