The '97 Centauro is pretty much done EXCEPT for one nagging curiosity. Front brakes work well @ 1/2 lever pull but the lever can be firmly pulled just about to the grip after the brakes are working well. My other 3 rides have a lever feel that's like having a block of wood 1/2 way between the lever & grip. I've bled many brakes in the past & twice here then also had the last bleed done by a shop where they used a pressure system from the bottom w/not much improvement. Is this a normal Centauro trait? Pads have 1/2 left & caliper pistons are clean. I'm wondering next to; a) do a rebuild kit @ the m/cylinder or b) I thought I saw a thread back some time ago that I can't find now suggesting a m/cylinder change but to what? Thanks for your thoughts in advance.

Do you have rubber brake lines?

Is this a normal Centauro trait?
Uhhhh.... no.
a) do a rebuild kit @ the m/cylinder
that would be my guess.

Definitely not normal.
It sounds like the master cylinder is going bad.
I don't think rebuild kits are available.
New master cylinders are relatively cheap.

I think this is the MC rebuild kit from MG cycle, could be wrong. Call them to verify.

That's for the rear.

If rebuild kits really aren't available and it needs rebuilding, I'd replace it with a different brand that's supported better. Brembo isn't magic.

Thanks Charles, missed that!

Yes, SS lines were OEM on the Centauro.
