Title: Lemans IV front headlight fairing
Post by: tonyduc on November 26, 2015, 06:23:56 AM
I bought a really nice 84 Lemans IV beginning of the year. Only issue is the front fairing has a crack all the way from top to bottom. It is repairable with bondo filler and repaint. But I thought that this is a good opportunity to give it a more cafe look with a new aftermarket cafe fairing, like this one:
https://www.maier-mfg.com/catalog/large-sport-fairing-rectangular-headlight  (Bikebandit sells this for $115). This one mounts on 7/8 bars so so fabrication with mounts would be necessary.

I would need to mount with headlight ears for mounts and new turn signals, but I would prefer to keep the stock instrument panel.
Anyone replace a stock Lemans fairing with an aftermarket? Would appreciate any ideas.

Thanks
Tony

Tony,
I've not changed out my fairing.....but.... ...if you do, and if you have the pyramidal shaped turn indicators, I'd be very interested in taking those off your hands.

For 1/2 the price of the other one you can replace it

Just my opinion: the Maier fairing wouldn't look "right" with the rest of the stock bodywork. How about a reproduction of the original?
