Title: Nicholas Cages Bikes
Post by: Turin on November 28, 2015, 12:19:35 PM
In the spirit of the Steve McQueen thread... N.Cage, Crappy actor but he had great taste in bikes, does his name take value away?

I agree.  He's like 1 of us, believable.  Financially he got his clock cleaned by his $ manager.

It's priced lower than the Keanu Reeves bike in Neiman Marcus-though that includes 2 days riding with Keanu and his bike fabricator.

His insurance policy won't let him ride? Maybe its time to change life insurance.

I don't like him as an actor but I do have a photo of him riding a Super Alce. He can't be all bad.

I liked the film Wild At Heart.

Sort of how I like potato chips.

Both are a guilty pleasure.

There are 3 films that can seriously spoil your drinking - one of them is "Leaving Las Vegas."  IMHO Nomination quality performance by Cage...

Yep , he played a very good drunk  Most actors are really only as good as the person directing them .

That is a beautiful motorcycle, engine design was insane for the time, it is today.

Absolutely gorgeous.  I had a '95 VFR 750 that was very close in looks but obviously the oval piston and state of the art (Again, for the time) is where the similarities end.

Not certain as the numbers built bit in '92 Honda made a reported 700 copies.

That surprised me, I thought the numbers were lower than that. Then again, at that price I was not, nor am I now a player.

Still purty.

What would that bike be worth if it didn't have Cage as an owner in the dim and distant past?

I never thought it would gain value. It's more bragging rights.., When I read threads on this I think of George Costanza owning John Voight's LeBaron.

In a similar vein, I once bought my gf (now wife) a leopard print blazer.  I found it while searching the internet for a snakeskin jacket like Cage wore in Wild At Heart.

Why did I buy her the blazer?  Because it was formerly part of the clothing set worn on "Cougar Town."  I couldn't pass that up.  Has a campy appeal, like Costanza's wanting Voight's LeBaron.
