Title: 85 Le Mans handlebar options?
Post by: bigbikerrick on December 04, 2015, 12:00:45 PM
Hello Folks, I have been getting accquainted with the new to me ergos of my new LeMans, and doing fine , except for one thing, the handlebars are very narrow on that bike. at least 3" overall narrower than on my sons KTM RC 8, and his buddies R1.  I have the clip ons adjusted as far upon the tubes, and towards the front, as they will adjust. I think I need more width. short of cutting/welding, and adding about a 2" piece of scrap handlebar tubing, are there any other options, for the old Tonti LM? What changes have others here done?
Thanks alot,
Rick.

If you can find a Lemans III top triplle clamp it has the bosses on it for a set of handlebars you just need to drill and tap or a through bolt and find a pair of top handle bar clamps.
On second thought I'm not sure if this will work on your bike, maybe differnt fork OD and spacing.

A couple of possibilities:

Verlicchi half handlebar kit:

It uses this clamp:

My Morini K2 came with the 35 mm version from the factory.

My Le Mans 1000 came with a pair of these already on it.
