Hi guys,
Im right before retirement. Also Ive decided to leave the fine world of motorcycling. In fact, during the last two seasons Ive covered a total distance of 21 kilometers which includes a trip to MOT and back. And that was in 2014.
So, Rossinante, gears, spares and whatever dooh-dah collected through the last decades of motorcycling are for sale, hopefully but doubtfully fetching me a fortune.
The substitute for the two wheels has been another pair of two wheels. Actually a few pairs, but dont mind.
Bicycling that is, racing more specific. On which Ive covered 8000 kms during the same amounht of time.
Also keeps me slim and fit. Partially at least.
So, thank you for many years of good fun, good (well..) advices and a good rant. I might pop in once in a while just to see if ye do well.
Keep up the good spirits!
Anders.

Excellent!! Keep out of the ruts in life!

'Tis a shame indeed, Anders, that you're leaving the flock, but as your enthusiasm has gone over to the lighter side, you go for it. If in later years, you find something missing, you know where to go & what to do about it. In the meantime, stay fit & healthy and enjoy your passions. Lots of luck.

Best of luck to you Anders. I hope bicycling keeps the passion in your life.

Good luck to you and enjoy your retirement.

Almost purchased a used corvette, no more two wheeling, then I seen a new white Norge for $12,000 ( brought Vespa in for service). :boozing:
Been retired since 2004.

Bon chance and enjoy those bicycles! I try and get on my Cannondale at least twice a week. The cardio and strength uplift is huge, and also a great stress buster. Be safe out there on two wheels!
Retirement does not suck. Trust me, I know.

Wishing you fair seas and favorable winds....

Blue skies and tailwinds.. Every hill has it's tops, but the freakin wind never stops.

All the best for your retirement Anders, and thank you for all the help and advice over the years. I only have 5 working days to go before I retire. Just lately I have found a very good physio who has been able to get my legs going again, so currently I am beginning to up the kms on my twin cylinder radial engine pushbike and have even bolted the bike rack back on to the 4WD ready to do some mountain biking again.
Don't stay away, I guess you realise that our Brevas are ageing (as we are) and new owners coming through will need help and guidance from high mileage exponents like yourself. In the meantime, enjoy that treadlie and your retirement.

Are you sure this isn't just a mid life crisis thing - and you'll grow out of it in a few years?
-
Hi Anders,
It's sad to hear that one of the greatest experts on the little Breva has decided to stop riding motorcycles. I hope Rossinante will get a good new owner.
Also hope you'll keep contributing to the forum, I've enjoyed so much of your stuff.
Good luck in your retirement!

Congratulations on retirement and on getting in shape. Two wheels are more fun, with or without an engine. Stick around, I know plenty of people who are into both sides. Myself included. Unracer but fun is fun. And in shape feels better.

Congratulations on your retirement. I'll be waiting for your post where you stick a small engine into one of your older bikes.......just to see what happens.

Great to hear that part! I cover about 7,000 miles/year on my bicycle, and only some years match that on motorcycles or any other powered vehicles, for that matter. I raced a few years when I was in my late teens, and for the last 20 or so, wondered what it would be like to try it again. I hope you pop back in once in a while with some race results and descriptions. You might even talk me into giving it a go.
