Title: My new bike
Post by: luthier on December 06, 2015, 06:55:57 AM
I just bought an Ambassador for restoration on Ebay.
I know it will need new Gilardonis, head jobs and a Greg Bender wiring loom and all the usual cables and stuff. Hoping the bearings are OK but they'll be checked. Will have a look in the gearbox too.
I like the sound of the POR15 paint for the frame too.
It will take awhile to get it down here in Oz but I'll do a resto thread then. Probably it will be here mid March.
Here she is:

I'm excited. Any advice welcome. Yes I will join the Yahoo Loops group.

Was going to council patience , but if you are willing wait until March for delivery patience is a quality already in great abundance . Have fun  :bike-037:

Congratulations! at least it is one piece and not in boxes so it should be pretty straightforward and it will make for a beautiful machine.

Fully disassemble the motor, cross your fingers and hope the crank does not require a regrind.

Nice, don't forget to register it on Greg Benders site.

Cameo White is a nice colour for an old loop.
