Been smoking a pipe for 42 years. I have a favorite that smells wonderful, but am trying other blends for something a little different now and then.

Back in 1977 or 78, I used to enjoy Dunhill 20000. Then I stopped smoking tobacco altogether.
Of course, nowadays, when I hear the term "Pipe Smoker" I think of this:

I smoked a pipe for decades. No longer smoke, but I loved it, and I still love the smell of good pipe tobacco.

If there's anything more pleasant than a bowl of good pipe tobacco after dinner, I don't know what it is . . .
Smoked a pipe for 30 years and quit six years ago when it stopped tasting as good to me. But I miss it.

Oh Yes.
Used a pipe in my college days during the later half of the 70's. Mixed my own blends of high end tobacco. My girlfriend loved the smell, then i married her and I quit when we discovered our first child was on the way.
I'm also a Skynyrd fan.

Before I quit tobacco in 81 I used to have a meerschaum that I stoked with either "Heather honey" or "Flying Dutchman". Dutchman was sweeter but I liked the Heather honey better. Lost the pipe after I quit.

I collect pipes butt rarely smoke them. The shape, heft, feel of the pipe is pleasant, I think, which is why I collect them. Right now I don't want to influence my son as he's at that impressionable age.

Peter Stokkebye's Black Cavendish is my main one. Mild, with a wonderful aroma. I tried Edward G. Robinson's blend, it looks and feels like an English blend but it is a mild aromatic. To me you have to smoke it slow or you get a little tongue bite, the aroma is good, but weak. Still an enjoyable alternative. Somehow pipe smoking is now a 'hobby', weird label. For me it is a way to enjoy smoking in the least harmful manner and for my 'lifestyle' very cheap. A few pipes that will last 20 or so years, 4 ounces of tobacco will last me about 3 months especially trying other blends too. So even that cost ($15.00) is minimal. Anything done too much is bad for you, most of the time simple moderation is actually best. This way you can almost 'have your cake and eat it too'. Main thing is to enjoy life, family, friends, cars, motorcycles, pipes, whatever. You have one shot here, in comparison to most things, short, so make the most of it. As you get older, you mostly learn not to sweat the small stuff and most everything is small. :coffee:
