Title: Correct color for centauro valve covers
Post by: dsrdave on December 08, 2015, 08:21:16 PM
About to start the freshening of the recently acquired '98 Centauro.  The p.o. had the valve covers chromed.  I'll have the chrome removed and I want to paint them the correct color.  Are they the same color as the engine or silver ???  Thx, dave.

Chromed. Really?

On mine it was the same dark grey as the engine block. With the edges of the aluminum fins bare metal.

They were engine color.

Someone may want the chrome, if it's nice.

You should offer a trade for stock ones.

The chrome on one of them is starting to flake and it has a couple scratches in it, that's what prompted me to strip them and paint them the correct color.  Just wanted to make sure of the correct color if I'm going to do it. Thx for the response guys.  Dave.

Not so easy to come by, but you never know.
