Title: So Where is Lannis?
Post by: Don Ivey on December 10, 2015, 06:59:49 AM
Seems to be missing in action.  Just curious if health issues are involved, or whatever.

Just looked at Lannis' profile and he hasn't posted since 11/17.
He mentioned in his last post that he was going to try a little experiment (he was commenting about addiction to electronic gadgets/the internet, etc).  Based on that, I suspect that he's fine.

*Rodekyll also hasn't posted since 10/23.  Hope they're both okay.

Lannis is a member of the Birt Bike site and posts there regularly including yesterday. I don't know him personally but my limited time here has seen him and "Dusty" argue often.......Now Dusty is a moderator....

It is common to have folks come, go, and reappear over time.  I have been around since 2007.  Active for a while, leave for a year at a time then come back.  Get mad at other members, have other priorities and interest all factor in I guess for many of the members..

It's interesting that I'm not the only one that gets concerned when fellow Guzzi posters go missing. Other boards are not like that.

Things bein' what things be - I note that a couple of the most prolific posters have gone missing while another very prolific poster's status has been elevated.

Raising lost TBFs

Mowing a grassy knoll?

Maybe pluto being in Capricorn?

Mid season break to The Walking Dead?

Murphy's baby upsetting the zen of the apocalypse?

Jon Snow's wolf prowling the ether world unattended?

Itches not E-centric or simply living a life excepting of the false world of the internet?

Perhaps.... add equitable gasps here as apply to one's own life - the individuals are occupied living a flesh and blood life.

In any case, Lannis' color is color lost.

Todd.

If you thought Lannis was fun on the board you should have seen them at work.  All I would hear was "that Guzzi friend of yours..."  He got out at the right time!

I have that priviledge to experience that on other boards. Two were Harley boards. Both required a dialog with a group to join. Pretty much screened out the RUBS and weekend 'biker' types.

Any controversial topic that has a lively discussion is deemed "political" and zapped.  Topics that are considered "political" are deleted before they become a discussion topic.  In other words censored before they become a controversy and not "political".  The rules of the board are "political" topics are banned not topics that are controversial.

I haven't weighed in here for obvious reasons . To address the nuking of political topics , Luap gave the mods very explicit instructions , no politics . We have members of every political stripe here . So... if you want to discuss that subject , there are hundreds of sites for discussing politics , religion , sexual preferences , etc etc . What might seem PC to some is offensive to others , and vice versa .

Tom,

Remember, This is Luap's forum.  It exists at his whim and by his direction.  It is his wish that Wildguzzi be a refuge from the usual BS found on internet forums.

If controversial and political discussion is what you seek, it's easy to find.  Elsewhere.

Anyone who has any questions on the direction of Wildguzzi and its moderation are welcomed to email or PM Luap.

Mike and Dusty,

First of all I respect your work as moderators.

Controversial or lively discussions do not equal "political".  Political is about politics, political parties, politicians, government policy etc.

There's a thread started that the OP thinks that he should no longer be on the forum because he no longer owns an MG.  We have at different National rallies owners that show on other bikes than MG and also their friends that show up on other brands.

To draw a direct connection between controversy and political is wrong.  While controversial can be political.  We won't know without a discussion.

Moderators are as human as the rest of us.
I'm not stepping up to moderate jack, and I would guess a great number here wouldn't
want the "hot seat" either.
What system works ALL the time anyway?
Rocker and Dusty seem like very different people, and it may have been intentional that they
both ended up as our Mods.

Not directed at any one here.
Just my take.

I'm a very political dude, with very strong g thought out opinions, and I lo e to talk politics.   At times I wish we were more free to talk about politics here,  but overall I think the modertors have done a very good job of keeping stuff of that doesn't  along here.

I guess - in a manner of speaking (non-speaking?) sure. But more as an answer to the aggressive invitation to leave on the behalf of those perfectly capable of advancing their own invite as well as the ever present passive attack of throwing a thumbs up in a "yeah... what he said" salute of empty support.

Peppers for the rice I guess.

He's commented about not wanting to be associated with certain types of lists , for example commie Nick's (rip), I wondered when I noticed him MIA if he felt this list was getting too blue?

If so, it's his imagination, he & I almost surely belong to the same political party yet b/c of some "moderate" comments like I don't think po-po should shoot at unarmed citizens that haven't done anything wrong, he'd be SURE I'm a bed-wetting lib & go at it! He took these supposed party lines way too far into the indefensible, untenable really.

Would like to see him take a break, come back & chill on being a political vanguard or just come back is OK too.
