My 3500km V7 II Stone seems to have developed an oil leak at the rear drive's middle plug. Pic's attached with a couple of questions.
0. Is it really the plug and not some scary seal ? :D
1. The parts list say GU90706203 - O-ring 20,24X2,62. What do those dimensions means - internal diameter (20), external diameter (24), cross section (2) and 62 ??
2. Should I drain the oil and how much should I fill back ? The first-get V7 manual says 170 cm3 and I don't have a service manual for V7 II.

p.s. - yep, it is under warranty but I rather not deal with Piaggio at that point.

Just order a new oring. Seepage is not leakage. Has to drip. Maybe it fell off at 1st service.
Yes the quantity is the same as other V7s.
Want to check the seal? Take off rear wheel and look at back of rear drive.

If it's coming from the level check plug that's an easy fix. This is the plug you use to check the oil level. To do that, you put the bike upright and level, either with a centerstand or put a small block of wood under the side stand. Undo the bolt, and the correct oil level is just touching the bottom of the threaded hole.
If it's leaking, try to snug it up with a hex key. If that's not the problem, then take it off and look for grit or something that's keeping the plug from sealing. Really, just tightening it should stop the drip. This is an uncommon place to leak.

Do these newer drive boxes need to be swingarm level to use the level plug like my V65C?

The short answer is yes they need to be level. Slight seepage is not real issue. Not enough of a leak to fill a gnats teacup. We use 85W140 BelRay Gearsaver at the shop for v7's final drive.

Thanks, Waltr. If you don't like the oil seep around your level plugs, I have found that when I reinstall the plug, I start the plug and then spray or otherwise clean the threads on the plug and surrounding area before fully seating the plug. I use mineral spirits as it will not harm or discolor rubber, paint,. I put it in a small spray can that is like a oil can but with a spray nozzle. Harder to find than oil cans but will be with the oil cans in the hardware store. Do not use brake cleaner, carb cleaner or any such product or you will regret it.

Really, just tightening it should stop the drip. This is an uncommon place to leak.
