And this is my Mate Dave's present to himself for beating cancer! Yup, I've rollerised it!

Thats the one I set him up with for $7,800. Good price even though it needed rollerising.

Dave went into Canberra and looked around at what colours stood out. Orange stood out so Orange it was!
Bungendore is home to colourful Grisos!

That was on my Sunday ride. the backdrop is 'Lake' George. Precious little water in it the last decade and a half. Climate change and many more people draining the aquifer have done for poor old LG!

I see spoked wheels on your Verde or a SE owner respray his bike to look like yours?
Is there any difference in the riding feel?
-
The hipster wheels came off the wreck
At the moment I'm wearing out the Dunlops that were on them, they're horrible, like riding on Bakelite! Sooner they're gone the better but apart from that? Nah, feels much the same. They seem a bit more forgiving on corrugated dirt.

Those Alpina nipples are one of the things that we think it will fail but holding up and march on, I rarely read about leaks.

Everyone is focused on the bikes (very nice, I agree) but I'm thinking : Go Dave, Go!!
Cancer is a nasty cantankerous SOB that needs his bottom kicked hard. Good on you.
Enjoy the bike.
-
Yeah, it was aggressive prostate cancer so there are some pretty important things that can't be done any more so he deserves a nice bike......
-
That Griso looks awesome!
As I've mentioned in some random posts, I got myself an early x-mass present at the beginning of the month!

Love hearing good news for a change, I am glad for your friend. Nice work on the tangerine terror.
-
Orange looks nice. I do prefer the more autumn roasted orange on the factory bikes in Europe. And gawd help me, your green bike looks so not-ugly in that shot. Well done.
-
After getting run over, frontwards, backwards and in one side I painted my bike Orange. Haven't been hit since. A good thing. It was several years ago. shortly thereafter I came over from the dark side to Italian red, nearly exclusively. :) R3~

Lucky guy! What a fabulous gift! That has to be the very best present that I have heard of (next to an organ transplant).
Usually I get something almost useful....

Even this would have been better than the birthday cake that gave me the runs for 3 days!
Whats the worst gift you've gotten?

I think I read somewhere that the Wrangler 4 door was the number one top selling vehicle among gay men in NA. Not that that means anything.

Oh oh! Somebody is not being good this year!

Ha Ha - FCA - good point.
But in my lifetime total's $$$ spreadsheet I'm giving myself credit for that as a domestic purchase!
Ouch!

Love the Xmas presents......and to derail things a little further, my Wrangler Unlimited is my favorite car I've ever owned, and I've been known to go through a different car every couple years. First time I've ever been happy enough with my car to not lust after anything else.
-
More affordable...

I'm almost as big a car ho as I am a bike ho, or at least I have been at times in my life (maybe worse).
I'm pretty sure I've never kept my personal car more than 5 years (Jenn's done better, but that doesn't count).
I had 2 main goals with this purchase. 1. I wanted something different/fun and 2. I wanted something I might be tempted to try keeping LONGterm for me, like at least double anything I've had so far.
Time will tell, but I'm having a ball with the basic nature of this vehicle (not to mention the capability).
I drove Jenn's GC last night for the first time in over 750 miles of driving since picking up the JKU the other week and I was shocked how much like a car the GC felt (when I previously thought it was a lumbering beast). LOL, perspective is a funny thing.
-
Nice color on that touring rig
-
Jeep on my bucket list.
Congrats Kev!
and ms.Jenn looks more than capable!!!!

So is her sister (who happens to be a Marine) -- you don't mess with either of these women.
