Yeah , we discussed this before , but OETA (PBS) is showing the Muscle Shoals doc again . Maybe the best music doc ever , equivalent to On Any Sunday for motorcycles . Amazing stuff .

yeah saw it.. good.. best ever, not sure.. have you seen the "Martin Scorsese Presents: the Blues" series of 7, some are very good..
or "Tribute to Woody Guthrie & Leadbelly"
I'll promote one more not a best ever but interesting..

Forgot to add:I really miss when different parts of the country and all the various studios had "their sound". Nowadays it's all 200 tracks and ProTools-that's why it all sounds the same.

My favorite is "Willie the Pimp" on the Hot Rats album. Even if your not a fan of the Mothers of Invention, that is a masterpiece

Leon Russell also did studio work in Los Angeles and is in "The Wrecking Crew" because of that. Ah the good old days, when the bands never played on their own albums… :laugh:

a nice documentary...fun to see where it all gets made.
Sort of like the visit to Sun Studios in Memphis...history you can touch and feel.
