The most innovative feature of the RS 1.0 is the head's access point. The helmet splits vertically in two parts that pivot around a hinge at the top and toward the back of the shell. This opening offers ample space for the head to slide into the helmet and then it only takes is a little pressure to reattach the two parts via two locking mechanisms. According to Vozz this can be done easily while wearing gloves and even glasses.

Waiting for the one where the top half lifts off leaving you with a neck warmer for colder days or insurance claim pictures.
-
Can you wear just the front half on hot days for bug protection?
How expensive is it?
-
How many people will put it on backwards?
-
Looks like it'll be loud as hell...
-
If it ventilates well, seals well, isn't too heavy, has drop down tinted lense, priced right, and DOT approved I'm interested in it to replace my Bilt flip-up helmet.

GOOD IDEA and about time!
I Don't have to start with my glasses off then put on my helmet then FEEEEED my glasses into the helmet then lower the visor before I ride. Then stop, raise the visor, take off my glasses, pull off my helmet then sometimes put on my glasses.
No chin strap to blind fiddle with or forget to feed through those blasted D-rings. it's been known to happen
Also for us "Block-Heads" the helmets we use may be 2XL but the openings at the bottom are pretty tight.

Designed for easier removal by emergency medical staff.

I like this one. Probably whistles a lot in the wind.

The movie prop-makers will often use a familar helmet and mod it to look sci-fi.

If it's reasonably priced (doubtful) I may have to get one.
I wonder if there will be a Darth Vader version

Unless I'm missing something in the photo, it is either on or off, unlike the other modular helmets where you can leave it on and open the front for eating, drinking, smoking, talking or expectorating.
-
I like the one in the movie "Dark Helmet". It gave maximum protection even at ludicrous speed.
-
I'm thinkin' I shouldn't like it. Fearing that which is new or unusual, as does any sane person.
That said, I'd like to try one. I should think building up custom interiors would be an outstanding high-point to the design.
For folks with giant melons like mine, trying to get a snug interior while still having an opening big enough to get my brain-ball through is nearly impossible.
But damn - those moving parts... Latches and hinges and pins - oh my! I half expect electronics or a liquid hook-up.
Todd.

For these reasons I love my Nolan. 2nd Nolan actually. Easy on without having to juggle my glasses. The one pictured just looks goofy although it'll be easy to remove after an accident.

That would be cool , especially if it made the wearer sound like James Earl Jones

Rear entry? No thanks. I never put my face in anything that could slam shut.

Maybe your friends?
No, none of them would wear a helmet that looked like an oyster.
-
looks like it would split like a walnut shell.
claustrophobic.
-
I love the idea so I dont have to futz about with my glasses or have them fall off my seat while I put on the helmet...
I agree it's probably loud as hell... every modular helmet is... Wiith the hinge and the big seam, this one is probably pretty bad.

Uh......it's NGC.

It will be problematic in jurisdictions where a chin strap is mandated by law (i.e. Ontario).
104. (1) (http://www.ontario.ca/fr/lois/loi/90h08#s104s1) No person shall ride or operate a motorcycle or motor assisted bicycle on a highway unless the person is wearing a helmet that complies with the regulations and the chin strap of the helmet is securely fastened under the chin. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 104 (1); 2015, c. 14, s. 36 (1).
I'd wait for ECE or DOT approvals but, even then, a LEO on a bad day could give the wearer lots of grief.

Or hair. Hair wouldn't have to be very long to get caught in there - not necessarily injured though, until the helmet slips around on your head a little and pulls the hair out by the roots. Not a problem for me any more, sadly.
I have this notion that a helmet kind of grips my head, right about where that thing opens. so either I'd expect this kind of trouble - ears, hair etc getting caught in the tight fit - or a pretty loose fit. But you'd try it before buying like any helmet, so this is just pointless speculation.
-
Buy it and you can be known as Flipper-Head among your riding buds.
-
Now if they could fashion little gas struts that would open the helmet with a phhhhtttt and expel a little plume of aerosol, they'd sell a million of 'em, and not necessarily to motorcyclists.
-
Here's one for any brits out there...

Excessive hair is something I have nothing to worry about. Baldy :blank:

After you watch this Vozz helmet video you may reconsider your opinion of it's qualities.......... http://modernvespa.com/forum/forum13........a new helmet

Seems like its purpose is to make it easier for the EMTs to remove the helmet from your corpse. I'm just sayin.

Up to now I've had to buy bigger full coverage or flip-up helmet due to my chin extension than really needed for my head shape. With this helmet that's supposed to not be an issue. Also many complain of wind buffeting and bobbing of their helmet in winds. With this helmet those are not supposed to happen due to it's snugger fit and shape compared to conventional helmets. Unlike flip-up helmets this design is supposed to be quiet due to it's more aerodynamic, smooth shape. I'm impressed by this design change and am willing to give it a look when available for sale in the US.

According to the bloke showing it at the recent Expo in Sydney, that was one on the main reasons for the design. And it is supposed to be a quiet helmet. That would be a plus. I was quite intrigued by the design & features. Must pop along up the road and try one on. Sometime after tomorrow.

Making it easier for EMT's doesn't necessarily translate to being easier in the states. All EMT services in the U.S. are different autonomous entities. They can and have ignored other requirements/training etc. because they may independently decide it's not worth their time.

All has been quiet for eighteen months, but a company from Manchester announced last month that they'll be distributing Vozz helmets in the UK, so I anticipate that someone, somewhere will buy one. Has anyone on this forum seen one yet, at a show, if not on the road?
-
If it's that hard to get your helmet on, sell it. Then the bike...It's nature telling you the party's over, buy a boat.

I have one, but it's too small. I'm going to take it back next time I go to Sydney as its the second 'Large' I've tried and it's too small. I'm hoping the XL, which they had problems with getting produced, will fit better. My guess is it will be my winter helmet as it doesn't have a flip down sun visor which is to me an oversight. For summer I'll probably get a HJC Symax 3 as the HJC's fit my head very well.

I have one. It is ECE and DOT approved already. It takes a little bit to get used to putting it on, but you don't have to remove your glasses (if you wear them). It doesn't have a drop down visor. It's designed in Oz and made in China. All the emergency services in Oz are being trained in their removal (2 screws on either side of the hinge). This means that the injured rider doesn't have to have their head moved to remove the helmet, meaning less risk of (further) injury to the vertebrae. They run a little small. I take a large in Shoei (60) but take an extra large in the Vozz.
-
It's price, weight, airflow in the summer, no flip down tinted lense, does it clear my chin, are all reasons I won't consider it. :undecided: But if it works for me I like the concept. :azn: Right now I have a Bilt Apollo modular helmet I like other than it's weight. Used to wear Shoei, then Nolan helmets, but they got too pricey for me.
