Title: Cheapo comms 2up
Post by: BRIO on December 17, 2015, 04:43:42 PM
Don't want to spend $500. What solutions do you guys recommend short of a tap on the shoulder?

Thought about two cellphones with earbuds in helmet. What else?

I have UClear HBC200's. About $350 for a set of two.
Can listen music and talk with passenger or other riders. Best of all, no silly booms and microphones to worry about. I've had mine about 3 years, good set!

Sena SMH10.
Not exactly 'cheap', but the best I have come across.

We have the Shark BT set sold on Amazon.  Pros are it's $80 bucks or so, works, has good battery life and good range.  Cons are the buttons are very small if you wearing gloves so you really have to learn them.  Also the speakers are not great and the first set I received one speaker didn't work at all.

Same here.   Sena SMH10's for rider and passenger work great for us and didn't break the bank.  I'm received a few calls on them when riding and was very impressed with the quality.

If you are not going to be talking to anyone and just want to listen to music or GPS instructions, look at the Bluetooth enabled ear buds. Best Buy has them as cheap as $50.

Figured I'd fill in, though I'm sure Penderic can do better.

I did the Cyclegear Bilt Techno Evo Bluetooth helmet for when my girl and I ride . You can still get 2 helmets for under $500...    http://www.cyclegear.com/nav/brand/bilt/0
