Has anyone swapped out the rear half moon thrust bearings, my V65TT engine is starting to slow down and knock lightly when then clutch is pulled in.
Guzzoligy talks about most of the small blocks having problems with the crank thrust bearings weariing out and suggests fitting later spec lario thrust bearings with an oil hole drilled in them
I assume its a case of removing the sump and timing cover, timing chain and then unbolting the lower half of the block ( with engine upside down ) and lifting the crank enough to swap the two half moon shells over?

*I've never done it* but that sounds right. As I've said before, though.. if you look for trouble in an old machine, you'll find it. Hmmm, I wonder where that bearing material went?
