I had some pineapple lumps while I was in NZ.
I'm glad they don't sell them over here or else I'd spend way too much money on them and become fat from eating them.
They are tasty.
-
Sounds good. Best fresh. Eat em before they go bad.
I like candy with style!!! :thewife: Shoulda married a pastry cook!

A dozen different varieties
Steak, Steak & Mushroom, Steak & Kidney, Potatoe Top and lot's more
Available at most corner stores and service stations
It's usual to eat them straight out of the bag, they don't fall apart in a mushy mess like some I could mention
Don't forget Peanut slabs and Jafas
-
Reading this I had to run and haul my bag of Pineapple Lumps out and have two. You can NEVER have only one! :thumb:
Darn it, I am going to have a third.   They sure are moorish.

Ha ha, who could forget the famous Dressed pie?
Mince topped with mashed potatoe and dressed with a slice of beetroot!
Oh and the sound of Jafas rolling down the wooden stairs of the Lido picture theatre during the Saturday afternoon matinee was priceless.
Jeez time warp back to 60's NZ eh.
Cheers Guzzler.

And then watch the searchlights from the ushers as they scanned the darkened skies for the culprit.

Brought over by Afghani traders way back, some are even
sold back to the Middle East as we have purer blood lines
than they have. We have so many they're a pest animal.

Ah Pies! Personally I'm a fan of Jimmies pies. "World famous" in the South Island, and one shop in Canada)
Then there is this sort of thing; (Have a look)

Had Fish and chips for tea a couple of nights ago. It was a bit of a treat for me these days and I hadn't had any for a long time. Fresh Southern Blue Cod (yum) and battered muscles (also yum).

Don't forget Peanut slabs and Jafas
Ah yes both of those are beyond yummy. Peanut slabs are made by our very own Whittakers Chocolate factory , Best chocolate to be had! I hadn't realised that the Jaffa was an indigenous critter though.
-
Dangit , the last of the Pineapple Lumps disappeared yesterday  My two favorite non-motorbike things are food and humor based knowledge , both well addressed . Thanks John

Time for some Ritter Sport chocolate, or perhaps Austrian Milka chocolate...or if you want to really splurge, some Telluride Truffles!
-
We have a German exchange student living with us. Her family keeps sending chocolate to us. I don't know if it is good because it is free or German. The pastries are good also.

    I am from the South sir! (hope no Aucklanders are reading this.

So are those JAFFAs indigenous critters too? Hadn't realised that either.
-
Careful John, we may be skating on thin ice here.
For those not from NZ, the term Jafa is an abbreviation of "Just Another F**n Aucklander". Close to half the population of NZ resides in just that one city. A lot of regional businesses have head offices in Auckland, and for many of them the conclusion has been reached that NZ stops "south of the Bombay Hills, a hill range that separates Auckland from the rest of NZ. This frustration I feel is where the genesis of the term "Jafa" has sprung from.

Bad wording on my part Muzz. I was actually referring to the confection.
