Per Motorcyclist mag, March issue, page36. Is the Stornello scrambler going to be available? I really like the look.
-
Re-using the Stornello name is odd. It means "starling" right?
It's an okay name for the original 125cc commuter machine, ...but not my choice for naming a more sporting motorcycle.
Perhaps the connotation is different in Italian.
-
Dealer says this summer in the US. Not holding my breath for exact timing, but I did put down a deposit.

Have you seen the Special-Scrambler that's currently available? Same thing by a different name...

In the last few years, bikes have been showing up on our shores in the Spring (March-April) of the production year.
-
I'm on a waiting list for one of the first Stornellos. It does have some differences from the other V7 II line. In particular is the extended rear subframe. I've been waiting for a long time for Guzzi to offer a nice looking bike that is just for running around town in. Supposedly only 1000 will be imported to the US.
-
Too funny, "only 1000". :boozing:
-
Yes, I chuckled some when I read that too, though I doubt there will be that many.
-
The US took delivery of 48 Stornello's last week. We are ordering next week. Have a deposit one one as it stands. Will be a numbered bike like the Racer. There will not be 1,000 of these bikes on this shore, more than likely 1,000 total.
-
Glad to hear they've actually arrived.
-
Well it's official. I have ordered a Stornello and they will be shipping it to my dealer at the end of the month. I'll be putting the luggage rack on the back. A little pricey at $285.
-
When Ducati stop making 800cc Scramblers (due to Euro4 compliance) and only the 400cc 40hp version is available and when Guzzi make a V9 Stornello with the improved rear swing arm travel and a little more power the Stornello may find it's neiche. Maybe this V7 version is a test of the water and the next 850cc bike could be a Stornello?

Apparently Germany will only get 90 !

I thought 1000 total. Who thinks 1000 can be sold in the USA? Sure guzzi would love to sell them.

I'm personally not looking for 850 performance in purchasing a Stonello/scrambler, rather a practical short distance run-about that will replace my Honda dual sport that I use primarily on pavement. So the V7 motor should be fine. I do look forward to seeing how the new 850 engine will pan out in other styles besides the Bobber. Visually, it reminds me of this version of the Nuovo Falcone:

So a perfect fit for the V7 series then.

If thats what your after a low mileage 2tb V7 Classic would do the job fine. Or just a new V7 Stone. V7 Stornello is limitted edition rare parts. you got to want rare variant of a not particularly common bike and be prepared to pay hansomly for the privilege to buy a Stornello. Still I enough people want to pay the extra for the Stornello that might guide future Guzzi model line up that's what I was trying to say. whats next for the V9 range. The extra rear travel may be desirable on a scrambler irrespective of the engine change. To me the V9 (what will it seems be the final aircooled development) and the 2TB which has much parts comonality with 20 years of older machines are the prefered engines. Revised 750 1TB is an interim stop gap in my opinion.
-
Pay handsomely? The Stornello lists for only $200 more than the standard Scrambler and the same as the racer. Limited edition for sure, that's a good thing.

I wonder if it will have an engine guard and skid plate available? Nice bike; would remove number plates like I did on my Buell Stt
