Title: v11 sport throttle body balance nipples
Post by: oranges3 on January 10, 2016, 03:08:11 PM
on my v11 cafe sport, the hoses coming off the balance nipples go to a t-fitting and vent to an open line...
all of the reading i have done regarding the plumbing on these bikes says they should be connected to each other, capped off, or the nipples removed and sealed until needed to balance the TB's...
what would the symptoms be if the nipples are not sealed or vented into open air?

It will suck in extra air, and I believe you're idle will increase a bit. I don't think it affects mid to high RPM's too much, but I could be wrong on that.
I put rubber vacuum nipples on mine and removed the connecting hose.

It will suck in dirt and crud and damage the motor. That is soooo much better that those nasty charcoal canisters.

:violent1:

At least plug it. It will affect idle a bit, but mainly I would worry about the dirt.

Plug them with rubber caps.  ACE Hardware.
