Title: NGC My new book (some motorcycle content)
Post by: nick949 on January 11, 2016, 04:08:53 PM
SPAM - loosely related to motorbikes.

I've just launched my new book "Actually, I'm English: rediscovering my homeland on foot and by motorbike" on your national Amazon site. It's available both in print or as a digital download. It's dirt cheap, the formatting is likely to be a bit funky, and I ain't no Hemingway, but if you're interested in hiking, my rides on Royal Enfields and bodily abuse, you might enjoy this.  It's about 150 pages, plus a few photos and maps. Thanks for looking.

"Forty years is a long time to be away. Travelling on foot and by motorbike, Nick Adams discovers that while many things have changed, the things he loved; the hills, the pubs, the back roads and yes, even the weather, are undiminished. Join Nick as he hikes the length of Wales, hitting all the high spots. Then follow him up the spine of England on the Pennine Way, through brutal February weather. On his third trip, circumstances conspire against him. The original plan was to walk from Chepstow all the way to the Lake District. It didn’t quite work out that way. Lastly, follow Nick across the North York Moors at night, then on across the country to the Cumbria coast. As if the snow, rain and endless miles weren’t enough while hiking, jump on the back of the motorbike and ride from Scotland to Devon via Norfolk, dodging hypothermia, then through the Lakes, the Pennines and Wales. Nick’s idea of a good time seems to involve bad weather, difficult terrain, stealth camping and innumerable pubs. This is one man’s view of a country he loves, told in a simple, engaging style. Come along for the ride."

You're very kind Dusty  :thumb:, but even with my inflated opinion of my limited talents, I know I'm no Bill  Bryson

Apologies for dredging this up, but I had some serious file issues that needed to be fixed  :violent1: , so if anyone tried to order it and couldn't, please try again.

Here's the easiest link to both my books.

Just finished your first book (kindle version).  Thoroughly enjoyed the ride across Quebec wilderness.  Such a fascinating nation, Canada, one I hope to visit.  Work still has me riding close to home... Though I've been radiating outward as of lately.  Your long distance rides on the 72 Eldorado and the Falcone are inspiring.

Having never been to England, I look forward to reading your newest saga this weekend!
