Hey all, just got myself a 99 Cali special to replace my 95 Cali (sadly it has to go). Issue is that I had the tank off tonight to tidy up some wires and I noticed the air box lid seemed warped which I hadn't seen on any other guzzi I've owned. It's nice and flush on the rear where the 2 bolts are but at the front corners and the sides there's a gap that varies as far as 5-6 millimetres (1/4") .
Does anybody else have this issue or is it nothing to worry about because the seal squishes enough to cover the problem. Thanks in advance for any input.

Pretty much all of them I have worked on are like that a little bit. Looks like someone took a hand saw to the plastic to trim them, and gets them a bit crooked.
I usually pull put a thin layer of grease in the groove in the airbox. And on the filter where it is supposed to seal to help catch any grit, in case it really isn't sealing.

Thanks Wayne, just what I needed to hear.
