Take it with a grain of salt or block. Analyze the criteria used.

We can't do anything right. We're (Louisiana) only #6

Poverty was the driver for 2-10. Alaska with below average poverty ranked 1st. Can we surmise that once poverty is overcome, violence will increase? I suspect the real issue is much darker than that. How does alcoholism drive the numbers? They call it "a shot of courage" for a reason. I also believe we must stop advertising pharmaceuticals. Preach to the kids about no drug use but advertise the latest and greatest cure for what ails you.

Right now, probably Michigan, Flint in particular. Tied with Illinois, Chicago?

This study doesn't tell us anything we don't already know , and probably isn't a good topic for WG .

Why? So far the discussion has been civil with no controversy. It was also marked Non-Guzzi.
-
Pretty much generalized information and doesn't take into account a person's habits that may cause the person to become a crime statistic.. ......Of interest is Vermont is supposedly the safest. Vermont has no gun laws.....

Gun laws are political by nature .

Very seldom do we disagree about something , in fact , most of the time we run stuff by each other before taking any real action . Have no idea what NY sarcasm is , must be something a stupid Okie couldn't possibly understand ...

Alaska is ranked 1 for its environment.

Like Tom says, take it with a grain assault.

I've met a number of Okies and none of them were dumb... And you do not moderate like Rocker...

Are you expecting me to be a clone ? Just curious . Seriously , much more communication goes on between us than you are aware of .

I liked how the Idaho photo was part of the Spiral Highway. Far from being the safest highway...

Hey we're only the 7th most dangerous these days here in SC. We must be moving on up!

NM is #4. Will probably rise in the next few years according to friends in the police departments. Several different factors with the main one being the Feds overseeing the Alb police department due to police shootings. That has driven the number officers on the street to a low point and it does not seem likely to get better. Because of that there are several organized crime groups moving into the area.

Surprised (pleasantly) that California wasn't on the list. Apparently Emeryville, Oakland, and Stockton are safe and (Straight out of) :copcar: Compton and LA are tranquil.

Yeah well, those of us who were born and raised in california some 6 decades ago, consider it very dangerous when compared to 1950's.
Sure you might not be shot but you will be a victim of a hit-n-run.
So the question is do you expect to survive?

.....and gun threads aren't? Laws are laws. The object of that law is another matter.
