Title: For those of you that know Norman Thomas - Kansas Rallies
Post by: Gliderjohn on January 21, 2016, 06:09:04 PM
I am so sorry that I do not have a photo Of Norm to post. Norm has been one of the forces behind the Kansas Rallies, especially after the move to Council Grove. He rode Guzzis (T-3 LAPD) professionally as a police officer in Emporia, KS. and then for fun.
Anyway he lost his wife a couple of years back to breast cancer and soon after her death Norm was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He has been giving it a good battle. Below was just sent by his son:

Dear family and friends,

The last four days have seen dad's condition decline rapidly. He began losing his strength and awareness of his surroundings especially the last couple of days.  Hospice notified me last night that his breathing had become shallow, sporadic, and labored. Dad is unconscious and medicated for pain.  I have been up here all day with him and I know he knows I am here.
I want to say thank you to the many visitors, cards, emails, and phone calls that dad and I received.  I know he was truly loved by all of you.  He and I are eternally grateful for your thoughts and prayers.
Know that he accepted Christ's grace and accepted Him in his heart.  He will soon leave the burdens of this world for the glories of Heaven.  There are many blessed souls waiting for him to join them.
Please pass on this email to all that knew and cared for dad. I will keep you notified by email or text as his journey progresses.

Sincerely,
Brian

I found comfort in this verse this morning and I hope you do as well.
John 14:27-"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.  I do not give to you as the world gives.  Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
