I was following the recent thread regarding the replacement sensor for the 1200 Sport (2V), and wasn't certain, after reading thru it if ....
a. there was a direct Moto Guzzi replacement available (?)
b. if not, was the Aprilia replacement part so undependable it shouldn't be used (?)
c. must I order the 'new' Guzzi replacement sensor and replumb the outlet in the engine with a 90 degree elbow (?)
Mine isn't leaking, but it is (I'm certain) the reason the triangle of death often appears. I ignore it, start the engine, stop the engine, restart the engine, and the triangle is gone. I think it is the internal switch in the sensor that is hanging up.
So, the answer I'm looking for is .....
What is the Part Number for the best, easiest to install replacement oil pressure sensor for my 1200 (2v) Sport?

Part number is GU31768780, same for Breva 1100, Griso 1100, Norge 1200.
Dunno is the 1200 Sport is fussy, but my Breva 1100 kept chewing them up until I finally replaced it with the correct version.

BMW part # 1546836 also works. The usual problem is the connector. If you have the spade connector, give it a clean and a wee crimp to get a better connection.

Beetle, thanks for the response. I've convinced myself it's a sensor that gets stuck internally and causes the ECU to throw an error code (triangle) as soon as the dash goes thru it's gyrations, prior to me hitting the starter button. Maybe, just maybe, it's simply a bad connection? Ehhh, probably the best thing to do is simply change it out.

It's usually because the sensor is stuck in an open circuit condition when you try to start it. Once you start it and the oil pressure returns it frees itself. Switch off and back on, and no problems. Sometimes, it will reappear when the motor is hot, i.e. it's stuck again.
Replacement is the only cure.
