Hi Folks, I am in the process of replacing the cylinder base gaskets on my tonti lemans, waiting for the new gaskets to arrive, so I pulled out the lifters to take a look, finding both exhaust valve lifters to be slightly pitted in the center, an area about the diameter of a dime. They are available new for $35-$40. my question is, are they okay to re use like this, or should the be replaced? Can I take them to a local machinist to grind them smooth, or is this not advisable? I looked at the cam lobes, and they look real good. The bike has 30K miles on the clock.
Thanks,
Rick.

Buy new ones and scrutinize the other two real close as long as it is apart. But then that is just me. Most were ground to a 1 meter convex radius as far as I know.

Delta Camshaft in Tacoma, WA can reface the lifters to the proper radius for about $3 ea. Fast turnaround too.
