Title: 76 (ok how about 96 then) California Brake Hoses
Post by: Kiwi_Roy on January 25, 2016, 05:31:03 PM
Anyone have a set of these laying around, My brother Kevin needs some. he can get them made up $100 for a rubber $200 for a braided I thought someone might have them laying around or know who stocks them.
We can't get to look at the bike at the moment so need to know if it's a fit for that model. Its a 96 California

Hi Roy

Greg Distributor's will make exact copies for cheap. I got six made for around $250.00, 1 day service.

76 ?????

Looks identical to the 96.

I made mine from SS hose parts.

Jim, the trouble is we don't have one to copy, He's in Taupo, the bike is in Auckland.

He's done a phenomenal job rounding up a pair of bikes for our New Zealand trip (Ross & I), I thought getting some hoses might help even the score.
I don't see them at MG Cycle

Who are Greg Distributors, I'm not familiar with them.

Thanks Wayne, they were still string and sticks back then  :boozing:

As I said earlier the trouble is getting the dimensions, banjo size, angles etc.
I thought someone may have parted one out.

That's $100/$200 for one hose BTW

Update, it seems like just the LH front needs replacing with a braid, if someone could tell me the parts I need and a sketch of the angles involved I will try to source them here in Vancouver. We need the screw on variety I guess, haven't done hoses before.

Thanks

Roy

Goodridge has pre-assembled kits.  Not sure if for that bike but had them for my 89 Mille!

If someone has one of these bikes a picture of both ends of the Left hand hose would be most appreciated. hose length end to end, what size wrench fits the nuts etc.

Thanks

find a local shop.  Bring them the stock lines.

They'll make stainless lines for a about $40 per.

or just order them from Harpers  $175

Greg's is a massive distributor of all things auto / industrial, they have branches in BC.

I have some extras made for a T3, not sure they would be the same for your bike, if you think they would work I could send the front pair to you.

I just bought a complete set from Harper's for my 90 Cal III touring. Speigler sent hoses for a 94 Cal III.
Curtis had em make good on it, I sent my hoses and they duplicated them and the are BETTER than stock as the OEM rubbed the fender.
 They are purdy, too!

That's what I'm talking about  Any Guzzi would be proud of a set of those. Thanks for the link I will sent it off right away.

Thanks everyone for all the input. Sorry Charlie, Two Checks, I missed your recommendation, I guess LowRyter finally got my attention.
