Hey folks, putting this up to just get some feedback and possibly answers. I got the new Griso this past weekend and immediately installed a tender harness on it. When I got it home and plugged it in, it was on the charger that day for almost 20 hours and still not into the even the flashing green, still solid yellow as if it were still charging. I assume the battery is toast but then fire the bike up and according to my dash it's quite strong at 13.9 - 14+ when running, 12.9 or more before starting. I check the fuse on the harness. Seemingly fine. I plug tender into other bike, totally fine. I read online it can take more hours than 20 to charge back to full. Leave it on the tender for another 12 hours. Still yellow. I google issues. Someone on another forum said you have to unplug tender from wall, plug up bike first, then plug into the wall. Tried that. Seemingly worked. Next I go for a ride, plug bike back up after ride. Next morning still yellow. Try the whole routine again that seemed to work. Doesn't seem to work anymore.
Battery in the bike is the stock Yusa on a 2015 Griso with 5k miles.
Should I just try a new harness? Replace the battery?

all battery tenders are not equal. it might not be compatible, do you have an Odessey battery?

Leave the battery off the tender for a few days, few weeks, few months then decide if the battery is toast.
Many of us don't believe in tenders, I have one but only because it's all I could purchase on the road with a sick charging system, I never leave it on for more than a few hours.

My comment doesn't apply in this instance here to explain this conundrum (haven't used heated gear on this specific battery), but I kinda must use them usually over the Winter due to the use of heated gear and then sometimes the commute not enough to recharge the battery generally.

Don't leave the battery on a tender. Instead have it charged properly and then just monitor its performance.
Before that though, if your battery is reading as you state, you can just monitor performance and go riding.
There is no evidence that leaving a battery on a tender all the time in routine use is anything but a waste if time. If you ride your bike frequently and the bikes charging system is good you do not need to hook it up to a battery tender.
You can use a tender if the bike won't be ridden for extended period of time but even then, you do not need to leave it connected for more than a short time.

To check your tender connect a voltmeter to your battery leads, look at the voltage and plug in the tender, your voltage should climb a few points. Stupid question but are you sure you have the positive and neg connected properly?

Some folks seem to have the worst luck. I've used my Battery Tender Junior model on two different bikes (V7 Stone and V7II Stone, both with OEM no-fuss batteries) during three successive winters now. The Tender stays plugged into the battery for about 3-4 months, during our (usually) cold and snowy winter in RI. Each spring, the bike starts right up, charged just perfectly, no over- or undercharging. I've found nothing to dislike about my Battery Tender.

Hey guys, thanks for the input but in my op I note the tender appears to be charging my other bike fine; so no issues with the tender. I think. And yup, I did check to make sure the harness itself was not connected to the wrong posts.
That same stock Yuasa I had trouble out of in my previous Stelvio for leaking. Pulled the trigger on a new battery a minute ago. Hopefully the new battery will be fine.

Good call using the tender on the other batt pretty much isolates the problem. Only other thing you might do is take the batt out for a proper testing.
