"Cruiser or sport bike?" was the question today from a young black man a few cars away in the parking lot where I stopped to pick up some doughnuts. It was 50 degrees and sunny, and all the wind we had yesterday had blown over to Indiana to bedevil Chuck.
"Um, it's a standard."
"Cruiser or sport bike?"
"Neither, it's a standard." A pause, then I said, "It's a Moto Guzzi."
"A cruiser?"
"No, a Guzzi, it's a standard."
"I've never seen one like that before. I like it!"
"It's a 1975."
"Really?? How does it run?"
"It runs great" I said, with a big smile.
As I turned to mount up an older guy climbed out of his car and said he wanted to ask me something. "Am I too old to start riding a motorcycle?" He was 76! We talked and I directed him to the local MSF classes. I told him to look me up and we'd go for a ride once he got trained.
Then, as I was finally ready to go, a twenty-something guy with a wife, two little girls, and a minivan said as he got out of his vehicle, "I used to do that." He glanced over his shoulder at his responsibilities, "Maybe I will again some day." "Don't give up," I said.
End of story. (All true.)
We've got it good, don't we?
Hope you're all enjoying any breaks in your weather too.

I recently had a conversation with Leafman regarding Mr.N's weekly KK consumption, and it was somewhere around 30 per week, +or-.
