At some stage I'll need to "GO IN" and get the tank out of the way so will have to disconnect the fuel pipe.
Rather than struggle and snap the red spigot off, I thought I'd shell out and get the proper tool

I think this is the right thing but do I need the 8mm blue or the 10mm green version
Cheers

Who offers these for sale?
How much for all three?
What Breva do you have - 1100 or 750?
I have an '04 Breva 750. Think one of these would work on the tank fuel disconnect fitting on my bike?

Go here for example http://www.amazon.com/Supercrazy-Fuel-Disconnect-Plier-SF0077/dp/B00IY986JQ
I have the Breva 1100, but I think the Quick Disconnect is common across the MG range
Whether they'll work - I'm not sure yet, but they're not a lot of money and if they stop you struggling then you're likely improve the odds of not busting the red spigot off is my assessment!

Thanks for the tip. Now if there was a "tool" to make my brain remember where I put these special tools when I needed them, I would buy that also.

Tools aren't needed. Just make sure the system is depressurized and the collar is free moving. (it doesn't move much). Pull the collar back while pushing the female fuel line connector forward, wiggle a bit and pull the female connector back and off. This does not reqire strength. It does require a bit of finesse.
Good luck

I realise that Hugh - but thanks
Its just that my observation is that a lot of guys have tried to do it by hand and succeeded in snapping the darn thing off.
If these pliers make it easier then that's all for the good IMO
I think I'll have to get the set of 3 anyway so the original size question becomes irrelevant I suppose

Yeah good one tris, I haven't broken the one on the Guzzi, but did on my MV Agusta a few years ago due to ham fistedness. $$$

You're on the opposite side of the world to me Huzo - aren't you supposed to be asleep given that I've just got up

The green one is the one for the Breva, very easy to use. cost about 8 of the queens pounds from memory

Not really directly opposite, currently 8 pm, just got home from a truck driving job
