Title: '97 Centauro needs help!
Post by: Daleroso on February 27, 2016, 02:53:43 PM
HELP!..... My "finished" Centauro started spotting the rear rim. I replaced the large easily accessible drive seal. Didn't leak up to 70 mph. At 100mph for about 1/2 of a mile a post ride re-check showed some leakage on the rear rim. SO... I boxed up the rear drive to send to Harper's USPS priority.....BUT didn't remove the 2 braces from the rear drive to the reaction arm. ( I know, I expect & except most all comments.) THE USPS BROKE THE BRACES.....Harper's is trying to find replacements which they say may not be easily done or say they can possibly weld them. In the meantime does anyone have a spare pair lying around (LOL)? :embarrassed:

Wonder if they're the same as the 1100 Sport. Maybe check with Reboot: http://www.rebootguzzispares.com/spares.htm

Yep.  Sport 1100i and Daytona RS use the same parts.

GU01352150  and GU01351050  The last one has no price anymore in the Guzzi parts online catalog, could mean not available from Guzzi anymore.

Thanks. That's what Harper's thinks. Still hoping w/ crossed fingers. Wouldn't it be ironic to have to part out a BEAUTIFULL Centauro all for the want of a nail. ( An old mid-evil analogy.)

Those brackets could be reproduced from billet or plate, if originals can't be found.

Thanks Rocker. Hopefully won't get that far but, what type facility does that work? This just happened yesterday 2/26.

There's a shop local to me that could make them. DLH Machine LLC. Just a few posts from his Facebook page:

Keith Black Intake, 1 gas injection port, 2 Alcohol ports. Made from a solid block of aluminum. For a twin Turbo system.

The art of 3D digitizing on a CNC Machining Center. To copy a solid object and turn it into a programmed tool path.

If the part you want is also the same at the V11 Sports and LeMans, let me know. I have disassembled a wrecked 2002 LeMans (front-end crash) and still have a lot of parts.

HI Scud....If your parts are fm a V11 sport then a post above says they'll work. They're the two triangular pieces at the top of the rear drive that secure the counter action arm. Can you send me a pic or if they're the same & you're sure what would you want for them?

jwinwi...looking @ Harper's parts fiche for your '96 carb sport the two pieces I need are number 1 in the 2nd transmission section. Are those what you have? They're the same as on my '97 Centauro trains section.

Thanks everyone. I think Harper's & I found a solution. Also, FYI,  the parts needed are only applicable to the Centauro & Daytona. Thks again.
