Title: Scratched car windshield
Post by: Vince in Milwaukee on February 28, 2016, 08:14:07 AM
Once again, I'm looking to tap the collective wisdom of this board outside the realm of our beloved Guzzis.  Seems I have a fine line scratch right at eye level while I'm driving.  Will a fine grade of sandpaper get it out?  Steel wool?  How about toothpaste?  Maybe there's a kit for this kind of thing?  Any help greatly appreciated.  Vince

Try cerium oxide Vince . I would avoid sanding , probably just create a series of little scratches .

Eastwood  sells a kit #12525 for $50. You use a drill or low speed polisher. It works for light scratches but won't help pitting.

I've used a clay bar for very fine scratches.  Took some elbow grease, but worked.
