Can any of the Mille GT owners inform me as to which wiring diagram they use for troubleshooting/repairs/mods. The 89 that I purchased has a collection of half assed repairs and I am not sure where to start with the corrective actions as there is no specific maintenance manual or wiring diagram available for the Mille. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

I would go to thisoldtractor, look at the wiring diagrams, and pick one that has the same ignition system. Most bikes are similar other than that.

I noticed some differences between my Mille and the Lemans.
the wiring is the same as far as i know to other mid valve tontis around the same time so 1000 SP or Strada, some other cheapskate old pigugly pudding. The important changes are around the generator (bosch or saprisa) and some differences in how main power/ignition is routed.
I think Carl has the Cali 3 carb on, which i think has a saprisa so that's the closest i think.

EDIT: Sry 100SP on Calrs page has Bosch geny. You need to select the correct one for yor bike.

1000SP also has points. The Strada has Digiplex. Dunno about the Mille.

All the Milles I've seen have had points but, they were available with the infamous Motoplat (Motosplat) ignition system. The Motoplat bikes may not have come to the US. The Cal III seems closest to what is on my 1989 Mille. My suggestion if you have a Motoplat is to remove it and replace with points. Basically all you need is the point distributor, the wiring changes are very minor if I remember correctly.

My Mille originally had electronic ignition; I don't know positively if it was Motoplat (although all the Milles I did PDIs on did) because it was converted to points.

I converted my Cali III and Strada to points.
