Hi All
As a new Guzzi owner... naturally a few questions.
My 1985 V65 Lario has a loose fuel tank, when I push sideways on the front of the tank, the opposite side lug can slip off the rubber mount.
Measurements show the rubbers overall dimensions to be 112mm, and the tank lugs have 125mm inside dimensions.
Seems a very wide tank mount system...?
Only had the bike for a few months, previous owner very blank when I ask him anything.
I have checked the rubbers online and found their sizes to be ok by the book - width and diameter, and the frame mounts don't appear to have been altered.
Anyone have a V65 Lario with correct tank who could check the figures please.
Cheers, Gray.

sounds like somebody changed or forgot the spacers behind the rubber mounts
i checked my lario, the tank cant be moved sideways when fitted.

The easiest fix is to insert one or two steel washers of the correct OD (just big enough to cover the OD of the tube that the rubber sits on).
Try one each side first.
Have fun :-)

Thanks for the info, sorry, been busy with work...
Have a contact from another Lario owner, says his tank is 110mm wide (where mine is 125mm inside mounts).
He believes mine maybe a Le Mans tank???
Either way, I know now where I stand, and which part is correct.
Just have to figure out a new way to make my tank wobble free !!
Thanks again.

i've got two lario tanks , both are over 120 mm wide at the mounts.
i dont think there is anything wrong with your tank

Hi Huub.
If yours is "wide" as well, do your rubber stops have a width wider than mine (at 112mm) ???
or maybe other frames may have wider knobs to suit.
I just need to extend the knobs to around 125 to stop the wobble, must get creative.
Thanks for the info.
Cheers, Gray.
