Greetings
I'm considering purchasing a '58 175 Lodola Sport that I have a line on. It is in need of a resto but mostly all there. Missing a rear fender and an engine cover, most the rest is there. Wondering if anybody would have any experience with how hard it will be to track down parts for this bike. Ebay doesn't seem to have much and I know this bike is at least somewhat rare.
Want to restore it for participation in a Moto Giro that is somewhat local, and also because it would be real cool to cruise around on. :bike-037: Plus a great project!
Cheers

If the engine cover is a casting, that could be hard to find, but a sheet steel fender can probably be made or adapted for a couple hundred bucks depending on how original you want to be.
Assume that it will need everything even if the owner says it's been "rebuilt" or "restored". Instruments, carburator and electrical parts are expen$ive!!!

Not to many of those in US. Euro sources would be best. Unless Harpers has something, Mike has a large collection of yesteryear models.

Been looking for a left engine cover for my 175 sport for many years , agree Europe will prolly be your best shot. Very rare to find original stuff for the early Lodolas.

Thanks for the input. Looks like Harpers has a gasket set and a workshop manual for the Lodola but that may be it. Might be a hard mission to track down the side cases but I pulled the trigger anyways! Here we go...
Sold my Griso last year but did't stay without a Guzzi in the garage for long! If nothing else, it will be an adventure.

You will most likely have to buy parts from the Mother Land. I've had very good transactions with this guy on Ebay.IT He seems very competent. Keep your merchandise cost total under $200 and you won't pay customs tax. He charges about $40 to ship to the US for a 6-8lb box of small parts.... no forks or frames, etc.

He also has a shop site and will keep and eye out for parts if you tell him what you need. His English is not perfect but very good and a lot better than my Italian.

That is a lovely little bike. I hope that you get it in shape easily.
