The used gearbox I got to replaced the treashed box on my G5 would not go into gear, drove me nuts, took it apart everything looked fine, just didn't look close enough. How in the world the selector claws got bent, had to be a lot of force on it to bend like this.

Like the saying goes "some people could break an anvil".

My goodness me!

Did someone do that when they were reassembling it maybe? Maybe it got caught on the drum and they cranked down the screws.
I can't think how that would happen from the shafter turning.

Thats our thought, the spline is also no longer square to the plate, you would thinke the case would have cracked. Took a lot of force to bend that I would think.

Have you got a spare? If not I have several, I can pop one in a bag if needed.

Around here we say "He could break a crowbar in a sandbox and lose the pieces."

Did the used gear box come from an accident damaged bike, perhaps it landed on it's gear lever. Steve.

Thanks for the offer Pete, I do have one from the trashed gearbox that was on the Call 2.
