Title: Chicago area riders...Highland House (70's -80's)
Post by: BMWDavid on March 14, 2016, 12:08:04 PM
I remember riding to Highland House restaurant Sunday mornings back in the 70's - 80's to gather with fellow motorcyclist. I've since moved from the Chicago area and was wondering if there is still a Sunday morning gathering place within the greater Chicago area today?

Highland House was torn down several years ago. Not sure if anything has taken its place. Only went a few times as it was 100+ miles away for me.

The gathering place now is called Full Moon restaurant. It's still on 41 between 176 and 137 in Lake Bluff.

Drove by there a couple of weeks ago on the way to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.  There is now an extension of a car dealership lot where the Highland House once was.  Used to go there a lot in the mid to late 90s when I was still working for Motorola in Libertyville, IL.

It's way to far North for me to bother.  I do wish there was something similar within 40 miles of my location, far western suburbs?
