I can't be the only who has taken this photograph...
weeks later there are several memorials being left at the statue (which is Jackson Browne, not Glenn Frey). I suppose that will only continue.

I have been on that corner as well. Don't know where the pic is though.

Is that her flat bed Ford?

Jackson Browne was the guy that actually broke down in Winslow Az. He wrote an unfinished song about it.
Then Glenn Frey helped finish writing and arranging the song and the Eagles recorded it first.

That is a flatbed Ford. The windows of the building in the background are painted to look like a reflection of said "girl in a flatbed Ford". The upstairs window also is painted to look like a guy and gal making out. There is, or was, a little shop across the street from the statue selling tourist stuff, and music coming over a speaker outside.

It is unfortunate that the wall you see is all that remains of the original building--which was structurally unsound, and was torn down. So the painted windows are a necessity as there's nothing behind them. There's a good-sized gift shop behind me (from where I'm standing to take the shot) and a decent ice-cream and sandwich shop across the street to the left.
There's a steady stream of people taking this same shot. I imagine tourist busses make the stop, too. It was a brilliant idea of somebody to do this as I don't think that the route-66 aspect would be nearly enough to keep this part of Winslow going. As it is, they're in good shape for the future (or as long as people remember the song).

Love your picture. The song was blasting thru my mind in 2012 coming into Winslow fighting 35-50 MPH gusts. Love that song.
