Good day , being a bit of a noob to Guzzi but loving every minute of it , I have a question regarding the 1100 engines in both the 2007 Griso 1100 and the 2007 Cali 1100 Vintage..
In this case the sumps , my Griso has a spin on oil filter easy accessible from the bottom of the pan /sump ..the Cali requires that you remove the pan to get to the oil filter ...that being said can you bolt on the Griso sump to the Cali to simplify oil changes ?
I know that there are aftermarket solutions to the Cali re filter location , but we wonder at using stock parts for the switch as well.
Are the two engines different as to parts in other ways as well?
the only thing we know for sure is that the Griso is a 6 speed and the Cali 5 :boozing:
Thanks for any info

The depth of the sump and spacer will probably be a problem and you need the spacer because it's what all the gubbins hangs off inside. You'll also need to mount an oil cooler or bypass hose.

thanks Pete i will let him know.....i have to wonder why Guzzi chose to build two different filter systems..
How different are the engines overall , is the Cali 1100 a older model?

The Vintage was said to have the Breva 1100 engine when it came out. I'd compare the parts manuals to find differences if I were interested in the details. I couldn't find one for the Vintage just now, however.
