Hello - this is just a quick question to ask if a Cali II normally has a VIN # Plate on the headstock? Mine only has the VIN # stamped in this area. Also, the number stamped on the engine block is a different number. Possibly I have a machine built from many 'used' parts? :undecided:
Thanks in advance for any help with this question.
Cheers,
Peter

the motor and frame number don't always match from the era.. I would expect a vin plate to be there tho..

thanks for the quick reply ... my Cali II was brought over from Germany about 7 years ago. Maybe that is why there is no VIN # Plate on the frame.
Cheers,

I think Harpers has vin plates if you need one. The new to me 82 Monza was titled with the serial number stamped into the headstock. I *think* Guzzi may have done that in the past. It can cause a bureaucrat at the DMV to have bowel spasms. Just sayin..

Mine has a Vin plate but I think if it is stamped in a fairly decent fashion it probably came that way.
Perhaps it depends on the intended market?
The new to me Lario of the same era is stamped I'm told.
