I ran into a guy I met years ago, he has an old loop he is doing up. he asked me where to get fork seals, are they a standard item?
Also he mentioned the petcocks are leaking, who is the guy who makes parts to repair those and also does the universal overhaul, a link to his website would be great.
Thanks
Roy

I guess you could use "generic" seals for the fork, but I don't. The correct ones aren't all that expensive:

John Chicoine makes petcock gaskets and rebuilds petcocks. No website. His email is: jchicoine@verizon.net . Harpers sells the gaskets as does Bruce Giller.

Thanks Charlie, I will forward this on to my friend and bug him about joining up here i believe he may have had his loop since new.
I was very pleased with John's overhaul of my universal and his parts for the petcocks made them work like new.
He even included a wee gift to save my soul.

I bought some viton replacement gaskets for the petcocks from Bruce Giller (find it on thisoldtractor.com under petcock repair). Awesome fit- the gnomes do good work- and fast. And Mr. Giller has a wonderful sense of humor.
