Just wondering how Cloudbase, MPH folk and any others are getting along with the flooding.

The 290 area got 17" over night. I live near Braes Bayou near the Med Center. The bayou has come out it's banks near Meyerland. The San Jac River floods at 49.5 ' . It's currently at 51.5' (west Fork in Humble Area). The difference between today and Memorial Day Flooding. Sky's clear at 9:00 AM total receding by 11:00 Am. It's still raining at 10:00 AM.
I's very wet North of MPH.

Thanks for asking, John.
I'm near 290, and we're staying dry (so far). They're calling this one a once in 500 year event, but I can still remember Allison where we got around 30 inches of rain in a day. This one is far from over yet, and it's pretty bad for lots of folks.

The bayous are over-loaded with rain water and the surrounding neighborhoods cannot drain creating street flooding. Houston is built on flat land and once the drainage gets overwhelmed you better get to higher ground. Que Led Zep "When the levee breaks".

6" in my rain gauge north of Houston but only flooding in low-lying underpasses - surface roads were fine at 9am and it was clear and sunny this afternoon. Had to drain the pool a little but no damage here.
Best wishes for those near 290 and lower areas.
