Title: Scott FS 365
Post by: rob-mg on April 18, 2016, 07:13:07 PM
This UK product has been available in the US, from a Boston distribution point, for some time now.

Can anyone comment on its usefulness?

Here in the Mojave, we don't have to worry much about corrosion...

Just like Antarctica.

They prolong chain life and can be messy.

Too messy and too much hassle for me considering I get 15k on a chain and sprockets.  But some riders really like them.

The link wasn't to an oiler system, but rather to the FS 365 corrosion inhibiting spray.

Hell from the OP it coulda been a Scott 350 with an over-bore for sale.

What's with all the posts of late, wherein the OPs almost assume an ability to read their minds or a willingness to blindly connect to unexplained links?

Sorry to have taxed your brain...

Lots more if you try a revolutionary search engine called Google. Or Bing. Or indeed any search engine.

Yeah, see, there's the thing. A fella or gal posts a cryptic one line notice, follows soliciting input in a question of experiences and then expects others to search for the base reference in order to help him/her out.

After that - he takes umbrage at being called out for the original post.

Seeing the picture of the bottle in the link - I got three bottles of this from an estate sale recently. I'll bet you can find input regarding it on a somewhat revolutionary search engine called, well... any search engine.

Me? my brain-ball's too tired to get into it.

Meanwhile, still interested in any any comments from Brits who have used this product, or Americans or Canadians who have tried it given that there is now a North American distributor.

I've just received two liters and plan to try it this summer in Manhattan and Long Island, where there are obvious corrosion issues. It would be great to compare notes with others.

FS 365 is a pretty counterintuitive approach to corrosion, but in the UK it is apparently taken quite seriously by both motorcyclists and bicyclists.

Yokel ? Is that an Irish term Rory ?

In other words, you feel compelled to comment despite having nothing to say about the product.

Why?

This just gets weirder and weirder.

Oh Rory , flattery will get you no where , and neither will threats or insults . That is the tactic of a truly unsophisticated , what was the word , yokel ?

Dusty, it was a simple question about a product that someone here and you have decided to turn into an issue. So I'm going to repeat my question. If you have something to say about the product, great. If you don't, it's just increasingly weird:

Rory , whether you like it or not , it states "Moderator" in my profile , and when you insult the forum , or its members I am going to step in . Considering what low regard you hold WG and our members in , why stick around ? Seems maybe you have received your dollar's worth .

There's also a huge issue here about your decision to go behind the user name of a participant in this forum. In 20 years of participating in forums this is unprecedented, and should unquestionably result in your dismissal as a moderator. I'm sure that many people will disagree, but I'm also sure that people who understand Internet forums would be astounded at what you just did.

Simple mea culpa and a link woulda done nicely hoss.

You couldn't be bothered, feel entitled to bother on the parts of others and then continue to bother with other blather. Tu culpa.

Dusty, I am just astounded that a moderator of a forum would go behind a user name. I've never seen this happen before. It's obvious that you did it to throw your weight around and get at me personally. It's just sick.

Fact is rob , I am astounded by your behavior and lack of respect for the rules here . You are NOT entitled to behave inappropriately just because of a belief that you are somehow special . As for the lack of a PM , well that comment is interesting , since you always misrepresent any comments made in one and threaten to embarrass the sender with exposure , so yeah , let's get this out in the open , have a moment of transparency . We welcomed you , offered "free" advice , for what , to be insulted and belittled . Nope , not on my watch .
