...Central Oklahoma over to the Eastern part is under one of those " we think this may be the end of civilization" weather watch/warnings . So far things are fairly calm with a few T storms , but the conditions are perfect for tornadoes . So , if some of us disappear , (some of you are hoping it will be your's truly) , look up in the sky , as we might be passing over caught in a funnel
Lowryter , are you and Darren prepared , or acting like Okies and sitting in the back yard with a video camera while cooking steaks on the grill ?

Can't they just take cover in the submarine? Watch the tornado through the periscope.

When my dad and family grew up in Syracuse, KS on the old farm, they had a tornado cellar. Used it too. Not much warning back in the early 1900s.
Be safe. Tornadoes are the worst, except maybe big earthquakes. We are overdue for a hurricane here on the Gulf Coast. La Nina should fix that starting September or so...

Are you trying to invite disaster to strike...especially after all the recent flooding as well? Sheesh! You'll be watching the hurricane wipe out Houston while sitting pretty in Colorado!!
Dusty - Glad we are not riding back from Seeedair Veighel (Prescott made me do it I swear!) today...imagine wind gusts of 80 mph pushing us sideways...that would not be entertaining!

Looks like we have the first round hitting us in the next 15-30 minutes. Getting infreaqent but very hard lightning. Very large rain drops. Keeping a close eye out as it just has "the feel".

I was only doing it as a practical joke! Back to our regular programming now from Cedar Vale!

Regular ???
Not a word normally associated with us

Rugulah!! A very taste pastry!

Looks now like things are settling down some now. The nastier stuff is going just to the east. They say we may get a second chance later this evening. Only .03 rain, need more.

Got some hail here a bout an hour ago. Will see tomorrow what damage there is.
We are talking wheat crop not buildings and cars or anything.
Don't take much to damage wheat. oh well happens all the time around here.

Woo hoo! Tornado sirens going off in Tulsa....this one's pretty close.....
-
Well , we had the "or not" here in Muskogee , just some lightening , a bit of wind , and a 30 minute rain . How about you other folks ?
Dusty
-
At our house ended up with a 1/2" of rain, no other bad things. Parts of Wichita received up to ping-pong sized hail. Overall a pretty harmless round overall.
About 5pm yesterday a storm formed over our place but moved north before dropping some hail. Initially though it let down some very hard lightning. The type that has that weird cracking sound followed immediately by house shaking thunder.

Some marble sized hail in Norman - lotsa weather porn on TV. Good Times.

Glad everyone seems OK.

Glad to hear nothing really bad!

rained and blew like hell for about half an hour. Lots of twigs over the lawn and drive. Sirens went off about 10 miles east.
Odd thing, a rural unincorporated community, known as Deer Creek school district, has several gated affluent housing additions. They've lost power from the winds last night and can't open their gates and school busses can't get in.

3 minutes of wind, 10 minutes of rain, and it flew right on by...couple of neighborhoods to the south took a hard hit...

no worries, Rossi's never been there. But Robert Plant has (so I am told).
Bart Conner and Nadia Nadia Comaneci live out there. And prolly some oilies and gasmen ready to throw the keys in the mailbox.

Here in Sugar Land: 5 AM ? high wind, brief but intense rain. Enough wind to knock down old rotted vines from large pecan tree. Hit side of house, woke Ms. LD. I sleep like the dead. Muddy poodle walk, but that is the normal. Will clean yard debris soon. Mosquitoes have hatched. Humidity pegged.

Nadia Nadia () has become a bit of a local celebrity . Hmm , there could be an upside to all of this , if all the rich folks vacate , we could turn Deer Creek into a private track , both paved and dirt :bike-037:
