I've been looking for some copper exhaust gaskets for 850 Lemans II in the united states. I'm coming up short, I've only seen the aluminum style. I see copper exhaust rings available overseas, but I'd like to purchase in the states for expedited shipping. Thanks :)

Not too far from you is Eurotrash Jambalaya (San Jose). Forum member Joe has some copper exhaust rings

Thanks for the plug, but copper not used on Tonti, only loop. Aluminum/asbestos sandwich, square profile. The early gaskets would probably work, but that's not the design. Might run into an issue.

Thanks guys, I'm looking specifically for copper, the motor is pretty built up including a Dr. John stainless exhaust

Have you tried the local auto parts store, many cars use the same type of gasket.

loop gaskets are a smaller diameter, doubt you would get a good fit. def, not same diameter...

+1 Check with the NAPA guys. They've been in my experience very willing to look through their catalogs to find an equivalent to what you are looking for. Other parts stores, not so much and don't even mention it's for a motorcycle; that's their ticket to dismiss you immediately.
Go with dimensions of what you are looking for at NAPA.
Good luck!

Thanks guys, I'm gonna check out the local Napa store. Can anyone recall a thickness for the gasket?

I was thinking about taking a chance on the loop gaskets, glad you clarified it doesn't work

Why do you have to *have* copper?

personal preference. I've never had exhaust leaks with new and re-used copper.

One of the pages in the Sudco catalog lists sizes of exhaust gaskets. I don't know the size of the Tonti gaskets off hand but a few measurements from one and you might find one from a Japanese bike that works. You will want to confirm that they are copper though.

Used to have a decent stash of copper rings that I acquired over 30 years ago. Used them on my Bevel Ducatis, Tontis, even my Commandos. Got them from a former Italian car parts supplier. Never knew their original applications .Never a problem. If I still had some , I would have no problems using them.
