My V7 powered V65TT has being a 99% success , the carb fed stone engine is stunning, lovely and torquey with more power than the TT tyres can handle in the wet :-)
Comparing it to one of the V7II Demo bikes at work show how restricted the factory setup is. Carbs are the way forward for me!
Had two niggles, one the modern rev counter looked awfull and I really wanted my lovely LM1 0-8000 veglia back and two the alternator mounted ignition sensor fowled the alternator cover and needed a spacer. This spacer seemed to make the Ducati alternator vacuum up every spec of dust and muck from the road so.......
I fitted a v50 Monza cam shaft, front cover , tacho drive and a DYNA S igniton kit.. Results are amazing, torque is lower down the rev range and it pulls clean to 7000 rpm in any gear. Timing is old school easy now and the engine now looks factory as the alternator cover fits perfectly

Done nearly 1000 miles with the monza cam fitted, oil lovely and clean, no debris in the filters and a very happy V7TT

You mention using a Monza cam? Have you graphed it? I'd be very surprised if it has a different lobe profile to the V7 cam.
Given the fact that the cam and other engine features are litte different I'm mystified by the choice of carburettors? If you want to zing it up a bit, (Pretty pointless with a smallblock anyway.) why not just use a 15M and twin TB's off a an earlier V7.
Probably better again would be waiting for a V9 motor and porting the heads to take Cali 1100 45mm TB's.

Its an 1984 v65TT with the v7 engine and box in. Wanted the latest small block engine and box but non of the electronics and complications for my TT
Cam measures same with vernier at peak but lobes look wider on monza cam to my eye.
Not got access to rollin road at the moment but have a good selection of single throttle body v7II demo bikes and mine pulls much much harder with carbs then any of the v7 i have ridden! top end over 5000 rpm it really opens up and does not hold back at all till nearly 8000 ( not that i will venture that high again!)
And most importantly I like to be different and my TT really is unique now!
Rode a V9 bobber at work yesterday... engine is a gem ... hemi heads make it work so well higher up rev range.. bike awfull... gearbox worst ever ridden....
Looking at parts book v7 5 speed and 6 speed use same engine etc, v9 uses v7II 6 speed box so it may well bolt straight up to the 5 speed box. Recon it would fit the frame if you cut the engine mount off and flipped them ... will have to wait till someone smashes a v9 up and nab the bits.. Wont be with injection tho... would use some 40mm carbs i have sat in workshop
