My '98 V11EV decided to spring a leak from what I thought was the small line coming out from the front of the tank. Had a nice slice in it from the chrome side covers...so I replaced it. Got her all back together and take her for a spin around the block and still dripping like a bad case of Gonorrhea!(Not that I would know) Turns out it was the larger fuel return hose. Take off the tank again and needless to say my garage smells/reaks of gas.........just had to vent(good pun eh?)
Off To the auto parts store again........
Thankyou to Mr. Antietam for good advice. New hose is about $85+ from dealer.

Should have looked here first and saved myself a few hours.......
Hopefully no other problems pop up as I'd like to take a nice ride up through the North Cascades and do the loop tomorrow. :bike-037:

BTDT on a friend's '98 . Glad you got it fixed , kind of a pain .

Not fixed quite yet. Local autozone only had regular screw type hose clamps. Will these do or will a trip to Napa or Specialty shop be necessary?
TIA

Get the good clamps , although can't think why regular clamps wouldn't do in a pinch .

Be careful your clamps are not too big, they tend to go "oval" and leak in that case. They need to be just right.

Just got back from another auto parts store and got the asst. pack of F.I. Hose clamps. Two clamps per end should do nicely!
Bought the bike about six years ago and this is the second time I've had to spend $$ on it. Battery being the first thing. Just need to put miles on her..... :bike-037:

I had my dealer replace the airfilter and gas filter recently. I told him to also check all the fuel lines, and replace any that looked or were bad. Sounds like the same one he had to replace on mine.
