Today I got an early father's day gift. (It didn't involve nudity) A new to me Hustler Super Z Hyperdrive 31 hp 60 " cut. I mowed my three acres in 45 minutes. Used to take three hours to mow my yard. Also got a brand new Sthil MS461 chain saw. With nine Ash, four Apple, two Maples, and a very seedy Locust tree to drop, it'll get broke in.

why do you have to cut down all those trees?
-
The Ash have been infested with Emerald Ash Borer, the Apple trees are over thirty years old and have carpenter ants in them, the Maples are splitting, and I hate the damn Locust.
-
The bad news is that the damn locust will probably send up shoots from roots all over the place. Good thing you have a new stout mower.

Finally a motor vehicle you can't get a ticket with  Oh , wait , don't ride it to the bar :copcar:

And thank you for supporting Hustler. They are produced about 10 miles from my house and it was the factory that had the shooting a couple of months ago that killed three employees and wounded eleven. The owners are good to their employees.

I hope the ants don't migrate to your house.. find the queens and exterminate..

I remember that. Sad story. Hustler makes a damn good product. it has a Kawasaki engine, with I believe is made in Marysville OH. So its pretty well American made all round.

We will burn the trees as we cut them down. I keep a sharp eye out for any evidence of them damn carpenter ants.

I thought I could do a witty reply to this with an appropriate image.
Whatever you do, don't go to Google Images and search for riding mower nude. My brain hurts....

31HP & 14mph mowing speed, that's a beast of a mower. And I believe you could easily have the cops involved, lol!
I love my new Gravely, cant believe the old one only lasted 37 years!

We towed a friction-driven reel mower array behind a Gibson tractor to mow the big yard. My dad got it from a golf course. It did about 15' at a time but it took two of us to run it -- a driver and a pivot man (kid) braking the mower wheels to help turn it. It flung grass 6 feet in the air. We were always afraid that we'd trip and fall into the reels as we trotted alongside to pull the brake levers. That's probably why the golf course gave it away.

Yup, two Centy's. I love them. If I had a wee bit of money, that beautiful red sport in Austin would be mine too, or should I say three? I'd buy every Centy I could if I had the jingle. Putting new fork seal in Chucks old Centy once I get the seals. This should be interesting.

30 mph mower, garsh!

Really, it's no big deal. You have to take the forks apart, though. It's the same job as servicing the forks, (might as well do that) and while you're at it, change the seal. The shop manual tells all..

George Jones could've used a high-performance mower like that for...uh, excursions.... :boozing:
