Title: OBD II, EOBD Reader
Post by: cloudbase on May 15, 2016, 11:12:02 AM
Does anybody have a recommendation for a decent scanner?  Any must-have features besides reading codes?

Thanks.

I recently bought this one.  It has proved helpful in diagnosing problems I had with emissions electronics, TPS, MAF sensors etc.  It has served well for my needs, but I can't make any comparisons.  It does have some nice real time graphing functions for engine feedback.  You can for instance watch the voltage level on an your oxygen sensors, and graph that simultaneously to something else such as your EGR valve and make logical inferences.  Perhaps watch the functions change as the engine switches into closed loop on warm up.  The graphing is completely selectable as to what functions you want to graph - I think up to 4 feedbacks at once.  It can be used to clear codes too.  You do need a smart phone with bluetooth capability.
