Greetings fellow Guzzi riders, So far this Cal touring has been flawless. I can't say the same for the Norge I had, but thats a whole another story. The cal is so smooth, solid, for the most part comfortable for me. I like how mechanical this bike sounds and feels. I guess many would call it that great Guzzi vibe, mechanical poetry in motion. The bike now has just over 2200 miles on it.
Saturday 14th May 2016 I got a wild hair and rode to Wilmington NC to eat on the river front looking across the river to see the USS NC (BB-55). Then I rode to a friends house on Ocean Isle, then returned to Winston Salem NC all in one day. First long all day trip. Bike was flawless. 523 miles @ 10.7 gallons for just under 49 miles a gallon. I have read that mileage improves as the bike continues to break in :-) I averaged about 72 MPH I guess. Bike is in performance mode. Just wanted to share how pleased I am with this motorcycle. BK

That's awesome! And what a great bike you have. I often lust for a Cal Touring (especially the SE version, which is not available).

Great story, and congrats! I keep getting defeated in my efforts to get the Eldorado 1400 out. Soon, I hope!

Bobby, that can't be right, Cal 1400s don't get good gas mileage and aren't good for long trips.
What, are we going to believe an owner like you, or what read here?
Get with the program.
<just joking, sounds great.>

I have wondered what happened? You had a lot of problems with the Norge so I hope they treated you more than right to get you into the new Guzzi. Sounds like you've found a match.
Congratulations!

Thanks... It is true I had a lot of problems with the Norge, the pity is I liked that bike. The dealership made it right. I am more than happy with the Cal. BK
